History

Print

Belmix was founded in the early 1970's by Graham Bell. Untill then, Graham Bell had been running a succesful contracting company Soil Stabilisation Ltd. which specialised in in-situ stabilisation, before the process became widely accepted. Because the process was not too common, Graham Bell had to build or modify his own equipment, thus Belmix was born. Later, Belmix became the main focus of the enterprise and contracting work ceased.

Since then, Belmix has developed and refined the mixing plants. The plants are now usually computer controlled and the operators enjoy the safety and comfort of air conditioned cabins. A far cry from the early manual controls where the operator was often required to stand in the open in all weathers.

Over the years, Belmix continuous pugmill mixers have seen service in over 26 countries around the world and mixed in excess of 20 million tonnes of material.

Today, the business is continued by Graham Bell's children: John and Rosemary and the next generation is growing up fast!
